Field Names are a part of the Message Template feature and enable users to insert database fields (such as applicant name and position applied for) into a message template to auto populate the email with the appropriate information from the applicant database.

Using Field Names

Here is a list of available fields and their corresponding field names that can be used in Message Templates:

Applicant full name: {{ full_name }}

Applicant first name: {{ first_name }}

Job applied for: {{ applied_for }}

Date applied on: {{ applied_on }}

Job code: {{ job_code }}

Applicant referral source: {{ source }}

Company name: {{ company }}

Field Names can be used in both the Subject Line and Email Body of a Message Template.

To insert a Field Name into a Message Template, just copy the field name you want exactly as it appears on the right hand side list of field names found on the Message Templates page and then paste it into either your Subject Line or Email Body. Once you save your Message Template, you can then use the message template to send a message to an applicant and the appropriate fields from the applicant's profile will automatically populate the field name fields you've entered in your Message Template.

Example:

The following Message Template will look like the example found below when sent to an applicant. In this example, the applicant's name is Jane Smith and the position applied for is an Account Manager position.

Message Template:

Dear {{ full_name }},

We feel that your experience and qualifications would make you an excellent match for our {{ applied_for }} position. The next step is for us to reach out to your references. Please respond with a list of at least 3 professional references including contact information and nature of the professional relationship to you.

Sincerely,

Anne Hammersmith, Director of HR
