What are CAPTCHAs and Why Would I Want to Use Them?
If you've ever been asked to prove you're not a robot by checking a box before submitting a web form, congratulations - you've encountered a CAPTCHA! CAPTCHA stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart". It's a fancy way of saying that it helps ensure the user submitting a form is a real, live human being, and not some sort of malevolent bot or phishing attempt by an automated system.
So why would you want to use CAPTCHAs on your account? Well, let's face it - there are some pretty unsavory characters out there who would love nothing more than to flood your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with spammy applications. By enabling CAPTCHAs, you're adding an extra layer of protection to your account and making it harder for those pesky bots to wreak havoc.
How To Enable The "Captcha On" Feature
Ready to enable CAPTCHAs on your account? It's easy-peasy. Here's how to do it:
NOTE: By default, only users with Admin access level or Account Owner designation have the ability to make changes to your account settings. If you don't have the right permissions, contact your company's Account Owner or another Admin level user to request a change. Not sure who your Account Owner is? Send up a support flare and we'll help you out.
1. From your applicant tracking system (ATS) dashboard, go to the Menu Icon on the upper right of your screen and select Account Details from the Main Menu.
2. Scroll down to the Customize & Design section and click on the Applications button.
3. Scroll down the page until you find the Captcha On box. It's probably turned OFF right now, but go ahead and toggle that sucker to ON.
And that's it! Once you've enabled the Captcha On feature, applicants will be presented with a little box they'll need to check to prove they're human before they can complete their application. It's like a digital bouncer for your ATS!
If you decide you want to disable the Captcha On feature, you may do so at any time by following the same instructions as above, but toggling the box to off to disable the Captcha On field and then saving your changes.
